IMA- International Budokan Shotokan Karate was founded in 2001 by Sensei Amadou Niang. His vision was to bring traditional Japanese karate training to everyone by offering karate classes and karate compeition classes at recreation centers throughout Salt Lake City and the Salt Lake Valley.

Karate classes and karate competition training are offered throughout the Salt Lake Valley, Utah, at:

  • Redwood Recreation Center in West Valley City, UT
  • Central City Recreation Center in downtown Salt Lake City, UT
  • Montessori Community School on the east bench
  • Centenary United Methodist Church in Sugar House, UT

This provides karate training and karate competition classes for communities such as: Downtown Salt Lake, Salt Lake Valley, West Valley, Sugar House, Millcreek, Canyon Rim, Cottonwood, Indian Hills, Emigration Canyon, Parleys Canyon, Glendale, The Avenues, Murray, Holladay, Harvard Yale, Yalecrest, Liberty Park, Mount Olympus, East Bench.
