IMA- International Budokan Shotokan Karate was founded in 2001 by Shihan Amadou Niang, 5th Degree Black Belt. Shihan Amadou's vision was to bring traditional karate training to everyone by offering karate lessons at local recreation centers in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the Salt Lake Valley.

Our students learn in a safe and fun environment, and are taught traditional karate with the use of basics (kihon), forms (kata), and sparring (kumite). They participate in local, national, and international competitions, and achieve great success.
